On our tour, we met with representatives of Hands of Mercy, a broad-based, Israeli Non-Profit Organization serving as an 'outreach' expression of compassion and support to the many individuals and families now suffering from the tragic events of terror, violence, and war. Won't you, please, give to help these victims and their families?
Help Fight Back Against Terror
On our tour, we were also privileged to hear from the director of Shurat HaDin - Israel Law Center, a legal rights institute based in Israel dedicated to providing legal representation and resources for the numerous courtroom struggles which are being waged in the Israeli, American and European courts on behalf of the Jewish State. Striking at the terrorists where they are most vulnerable, in the funding, the Israel Law Center needs your help to continue this expensive, yet effective struggle.
(Almost) Ready to Go!
Saturday, June 3
In just over 48 hours, we will be on our way to Israel! It is very exciting, even if the packing is not yet finished. Oh, well, we can get done after Havdallah.

Early departure - Gamla, Talmudic Village w/ current Multi-media show (both R. Meir & Acnai’s Oven), Qatzrin Gamla Museum, Caeserea Phillipi, Biblical Dan and Nature Reserve, Misgav Am, Hatzor (unlikely time permitting)– Overnight Zefat - Rimonim Hotel (converted 17th cent. Turkish Hotel)

Friday June 9th –

Visit ancient Zefat with Artists Colony & Shopping, Korazim, Pekiin (Rabbi bar Yochai hiding cave and synagogue, Bar Am Ancient Synagogue, Mt. Meron (Tomb of Shimon Bar Yochai) – Shabbat Dinner – Overnight Zefat

Saturday June 10th –

Sabbath rest in Zefat – worship in famous synagogues, walk the ancient streets, study Torah with the “Sages”! Overnight Zefat

Sunday June 11th –

Yodefat, Muhkrata (Elijah’s Mt. Carmel), Zichron Yaakov (winery), Caeserea (New Caeserea Experience) – Mediteranean swim - overnight Tel Aviv – Dan Panorama Hotel

Thursday June 15th - Early departure –

Haas Promenade, Herodian, Gush Etzion and Patriarch’s Road, Caves of Machpelah (the Patriarchs), Sussiya, Tel Arad, – arrive at Dead Sea Hotel After early dinner – 6:30 departure to Masada Night Light & Sound Show - overnight - Dead Sea Novotel Hotel

Friday June 16th –

Ascend Masada, hike the Oasis at En Gedi, Qumran (Dead Sea Scrolls community). Possible visit to authentic excavations of Yeshua’s Baptismal site, time permitting short visit author Avi & Rachel Lipkin at new home in Kedar, Erev Shabbat - re-check -in Mt. Zion Hotel in Jerusalem

Shabbat June 17th – (no bus day) Morning Sabbath worship at HaKotel (the Wall) or Messianic Service at Christ Church inside Jaffa GAte, after lunch Citadel of David Jerusalem Museum and additional walking tour.

Sunday June 18th – Half Day Walking Tour (no bus)–

Schindler’s, Tomb King David, Syrian Church of Last Supper, Burnt House (9:30), Temple Institute (10:00), Davidson’s Center (Southern Wall Excavations – free afternoon. Late evening visit to Rabbis Tunnel under Temple Mount (9:45 PM walking departure from hotel).

Monday June 19 – Israel Museum & Temple Model, Shrine of the Book (Dead Sea Scrolls Museum), Yad Vashem (Holocaust Museum), We will attempt to make arrangements to visit proposed site of the Estate of Rabbi Gamliel Bet Jamal and Fatir, ), Bet Shemesh, Tel Azekah/Valley of Elah – MiniIsrael Park and Farewell Dinner - off to airport departure for U.S.

Thursday June 22 - Underwater Observatory, Aquarium, Simulation Multi-media show. Lunch included at hotel - Afternoon free to enjoy resort hotel, 7:30 flight from Eilat to Sde Dov – transfer to Ben Gurion for 12:20 AM departure Israir.

45 Americans - Orthodox Jews, Messianic Jews, Christians, and others - toured Israel from June 4 through June 20, 2006, from the Golan to Be'er Sheva, from Tel Aviv to the Dead Sea, from Hevron to Jerusalem. Christopher Coleman was born in the US but raised in Central Africa, specifically what was Zaire and is now the Congo, again. As an adult, Christopher learned of his Jewish heritage, which had been hidden for generations. He also began searching for the Jewish roots of his Christian faith, and eventually joined Adat Yeshua Messianic Congregation. Although a long time student, and sometimes victim, of foreign affairs and US foreign policy, Christopher assumed there was no point in speaking out until the events of September 11, 2001, made keeping silent impossible. Later that year, he was invited to join Jerry Feldman as co-host of For Zion's Sake, which eventually led to the creation of the For Zion's Sake Blog.
